Track Sessions - Next Session Starts December 4th, 2007!

December Sessions: 7pm at the Greenlake Track

  1. Tuesday December 4
  2. Tuesday December 11
  3. Tuesday December 18
  4. Thursday December 27 (moved to Thursday @ 8pm because of Xmas)
  5. Wednesday January 2 (moved to Wednesday because of the New Year)

All level athletes are welcome.  You run your own pace, or work with someone who is your pace.  The workouts are once a week for 5 weeks.  There is a nominal $30 fee for the 5 sessions.  Come enjoy the motivational benefits of training with a group!  The workouts happen rain or shine at 7pm on the Greenlake track.  Contact Matt with Questions.

Track workouts are not just for the super fast sprint athletes.  Longer distance athletes often think because they go for so long at a slower pace they simple don't need to do speed workouts.  Wrong!  Track/speed workouts will benefit any distance athlete.  There are many benefits to training on the track including increasing your oxygen uptake (V02Max), lactic threshold and your running economy.  Training at a higher effort level will also make it more sustainable during your training and races by making you more comfortable at higher effort levels, higher heart rates and higher speeds.

Boot Camp Workouts Coming Soon!  Contact Matt if you are interested.

Wednesday Night Rides - presented by DART-nuun and Light and Motion -

See the Seattle Area Adventure Racing MSN Group site for details on where there ride is this week.

"That's right they are making a comeback! Myself or other members of DART-nuun (Matt and Glenn) will be hosting wednesday night rides, starting Wednesday November 28th after Thanksgiving. Wednesday November 28th we will be riding the Renton Towers of Power (aka Tapeworm) at 7pm. For Directions and trail details click here.

These rides will be a chance to get dirty, have some fun, try and the latest and greatest lights from Light&Motion (if you choose to) and work on your handling skills. The only emphasis we have is being well lit and having fun as this is the time of year that we work more on handling skills and less on moving fast :-) The more the merrier, bring your own lights as well in case we run out.

For those of you wanting to try the L&M set ups we will have around 5 set ups to let riders check out each week. Please e-mail me at r_vangorder at hotmail.com if you plan on showing up (or have questions) and I will save a light for you.

We usually ride for an hour or so...and you will always be close enough to the car to bail out at any time.

See you on the trails-
RVG"
